The Coordinator should be able to plan and implement the safety concept on construction sites and to make the adopted choices mandatory – and if possible also shared – for all the subjects involved in the realization of the project. The Staff should trust in this technical Expert who has to ensure the job protection.
The Safety Coordinator represents a fundamental resource in the world of construction sites (temporary or mobile): he is the professional appointed by the Client or the by the Responsible for executive works with the aim of guaranteeing the coordination between the companies involved, in order to to reduce work-related risks for health and safty of workers.

The Coordinator in the design phase
This Coordinator is appointed on construction sites during the presence of several contractors (even if not at the same time).
The Coordinator for the design phase should coordinate the preventive and protective measures supplied during the work in order to guarantee the health and safety of the workplace. Once the Safety Coordinator has been engaged for the design phase, he has to be the first reference for both the Contractor and the Responsible for the executive works. He has to oversee the general measures of protection.
The Coordinator in the execution phase
This Coordinator is appointed on construction sites during the presence of several executing companies (even if not at the same time) and also when new contractors are extablished.
The appointment of this Coordinator is a Client or a Project Supervisor’s duty.
The Coordinator plays an operative role that develops when the executive works start.
The Coordinator for the execution of works is an executive professional who has the task of monitoring meticously the correct process of the works.
He has tasks of continuous supervision and control on construction sites. For this reason he has to observe the construction sites in order to guarantee the safety on the pipeline and report any default or non-compliance to the client/or to the project supervisor. In case they don’t listen to the Coordinator’s advices, the Coordinator can report all the irregularities to the Local Health Autority or to the Provincial Directorate of the work.
